After discarding various pseudonyms he settled down for the much-fitting-to-his-character name of Dreamer, going against all odds, as there were many other active Dreamers at the time. He felt unease being one of the30 members of the Flying Cows Inc, so in September of 1994 he formed the group TPDL with his friends Tom, Python and Lazur. The group released only one 40K intro, and shortly after Dreamer decided to follow his friend Lazur in TRSI. In TRSI Lazur released his slideshow SUN with music from Dreamer. In the middle of 1995, Dreamer decided to launch his own demo division of the international group, together with the Polish section of TRSI, which he named Nah Kolor. However, at The Party 1995, due to some misunderstandings, Dreamer and his gang decided to stem apart from TRSI.

continued to use the arsenal of music that Dreamer had built up in his active years,in demos like SideFx (1998). "Someone told me that they are still alive", he says with nonchalant care. Indeed Dreamer estimates that over the years he produced almost 150 Amiga modules.

And that's the end of the story, isn't it?

Actually this is where Andrzej' climb to stardom really starts!

"My path took me away from the demo scene", says Andrzej, who was now studying in Warsaw. He went on to win important scholarships in Amsterdam, Oxford and Lisbon. In 2001 he was awarded the best MSc thesis in Physics in his native country by the Polish Physical Society, and was thereafter sponsored by the European Science Foundation in 2002. The year after he received exclusive grants from the State Committee for Scientific Research and in 2004 he was awarded the Young Scholar of the year by the National Foundation for Polish Science. Impressed by his achievements the "Polityka" Polish weekly magazine honoured him with a scholarship in the same year. In 2005 Andrzej received his Phd in quantum physics, by the University of Warsaw, where to this day he holds the position as an assistant Professor in the Physics Department. He is currently working on a project to research the connection between the Theory of Relativity and Quantum Mechanics. "The institution pays me for looking at the ceiling with my legs on my desk! From time to time, I release the results of my work and that seems to make them happy", he confides in us!

Did Andrzej forget his Protacker origins in preference of Physics? Obviously no, as over the years he has won numerous national and international composing competitions too!

A genius like Andrzej turns whatever he concocts into true art. Since 2003 he has developed a keen interest in photography, where he started to experiment with the medium and do freelance work in advertising. He has researched a new photography developing technique which has become known as "The Dragan Effect" in the photographic world. Indeed, our Andrzej has achieved a mastery of style that is unmistakably his own. So much so that other photographers all over the world seem to be copying his technique quite directly! Muted color, crisp highlights & shadows and impeccable lighting still remain his unique trademark though.
In the past 4 years his photographs appeared in 30 exhibitions all over the world, from Paris to Hamburg, in Amsterdam, Milan, Switzerland and Barcelona. His work has been published in books and magazines in 12 countries. In 2006 he was even nominated for the Cannes Festival Lion Award! Last year he won the gold award at the Golden Drum Festival, considered to be the most significant advertising festival in the world. And if that was not enough, shorty after he was crowned as Photographer of the Year 2007, by Digital Camera Magazine (UK).

This year Andrzej also did commercial photographical work in relation to PS3 and XBox commercials. "Some people claim that a good portrait will reveal some truth about the model. I'm undoubtedly sad to state that these people will not find anything interesting in my photography which has no such purpose", he says.

It's no wonder that at age 30, and with such a long list of world first achievements already behind his back, Andrzej rarely thinks about his past demo scene days. "I don't miss the scene at all. I hated the 8bit sound and all the other limits of the software, but Commodore didn't care and they did not release any upgrade of the hardware for many years. Thus I decided to quit forever", he says. Andrzej used to play the piano for 10 years prior to his scene days, so it's no wonder that he found Protracker to limit his musical freedom. Heatbeat and Audiomonster were always his favourite scene icons. "The tracks I enjoyed the most were Heatbeat's unreleased pieces such as the one called Furniture". Andrzej says that he has never released a music CD in his life, but he heard that someone made pirate Dreamer CDs some
years back.

What does he plan for the future? "I am working on my immortality. Once you achieve that you don't need specific plans, because any plan will lead you somewhere", he claims in a mischievous tone.

Is he pulling our leg, or is he serious? You never know with someone who used to call himself Dreamer 12 years back. Then on second thoughts, his mind conceives another consideration. "I want to warn you that the devil plays dice and I know why"

Good night!
